"Now these [Berean] Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so" (Acts 17:11 ESV).

About us

Berean Press Ministries (BPM) is a publishing and prison ministry organization founded by Howard & Rita Chaney. The purpose is to publish books by the author and other Christians. You can support this ministry by buying our published books. It takes two book sales to purchase and mail a Bible to an inmate. We pray our work is in God’s will, brings Him and Christ glory, and He allows growth for this humble work. Please help us grow by praying for our work. This website supplies information about published books, articles, and links for reliable Bible study resources.

We are Howard and Rita Chaney. We love God's Word, the Bible.  Scriptures hold the key to life containing the wisdom to live a godly life in an ungodly world.

Much is said about love. Jesus taught,

“‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets” (Matthew 22:37-40 NKJV).

There is a simple truth about love that people often miss. But Scripture is clear when John writes of another saying of Jesus,  “If you love Me, keep My commandments"  (John 14:15 NKJV). Once again, our love is contingent on keeping the commandments of Jesus and the Word.

Yes, we have opinions about the Bible and what it says. However, we would prefer to quote Scripture to interpret Scripture and leave opinions out of any discussion. John records Jesus saying,

“If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”  (John 8:31-32 NKJV).

This tells us what we need to know about Scripture. Through the Word, the Holy Spirit reveals the truth, but because the sentence starts with "if" the statement about knowing the truth is contingent on learning and obeying Jesus' Word.
